With a capacity of 25000 the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium is relatively small for a FIFA compliant football stadium, but provides sufficient seating capacity for matches of the Al Ain Football Club, one of the most recognized and successful football clubs in the Middle East region. The steel structure of the roof follows undulating geometry and its varying inclinations is the result of the requirement of full shading all year long. Different textile materials are developing the fluid contour of the roof and the significant facade system, which borrows the design concept from the palm bole texture.
