Within the SEACON project, financed by the Infravation program (Advanced systems, materials and techniques for next generation infrastructure), experimental tests, in laboratory and on-site, are being carried out, aimed at demonstrating the safe utilization of chloride contaminated raw materials for the production of a sustainable concrete when combined with non-corrosive reinforcement to construct durable and economical concrete infrastructures. This first paper reports the preliminary results of the laboratory experimental tests carried out on concrete specimens, reinforced with different types of stainless steel bars and, for comparison, with carbon steel bars, made with chloride contaminated raw materials and different percentages of mixed-in chlorides, exposed in an unsheltered environment, in Milan, where no further penetration of chlorides is expected. Next paper will describe the preliminary results of the demo project.

Abstract
Next paper will describe the preliminary results of the demo project.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
