Damage identification and localization in civil structure is a widely studied topic. In this paper the feasibility of a damage detection method for railway bridge, based on on-board-vehicle sensors, is investigated. The level of accelerations on axle-box, bogie and carbody, excited by the presence of a defect on the bridge, are determined by means of numerical simulation of the train-bridge interaction.

Abstract

Damage identification and localization in civil structure is a widely studied topic.
