Cremona is characterized since the Roman era by the close relationship with the largest Italian river, the Po. In the centuries its course has moved away from the city center because of the meandering variations and of the human works, as shown by the maps and historical registers, and today it is about 2 km south of the city. Since the nineteenth century, the floodplain area has become a second green city, intended for sport and leisure, distributed between beaches and poplar groves. Wooden chalet for public bathing facilities, boat rentals and restaurants, rowing clubs, working men's club and heliotherapy colony have so dotted the riverfront. In the Thirties such structures have been replaced by masonry seats, of which survive a rowing club and the colony. But the custom of living the riverfront as "Lido Padano" is still felt, so much so that in 2016 reopened a summer settlement, il Ponticello. Not only the model of rowing clubs, not finding outlets on the banks, it has spread in the territory where he created a dozen similar associations.

Abstract
Not only the model of rowing clubs, not finding outlets on the banks, it has spread in the territory where he created a dozen similar associations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
