Abstract

We analyze a data set made of 6385 functional data derived from laminated sediment cores extracted from lake Kassjo ̈n and aim at estimating the evolution of seasonal climate in Northern Sweden in the last six thousand years. A new method of analysis is proposed which is able to jointly deal with the temporal dependence, the misalignment, and the presence of clusters that characterize these data.
