This paper shows that the space-vector approach is an eminent and powerful tool in three-phase analysis. It is able to manage in a unitary way the sinusoidal, distorted and transient conditions. Its complex Fourier series implements a formal unification between unbalance and distortion; such unification is conceptually significant and leads to simplification of principle, as well as powerful analytical processing. Examples illustrate the effectiveness of the complex Fourier series as analytical tool in different application areas.

Abstract
This paper shows that the space-vector approach is an eminent and powerful tool in three-phase analysis. It is able to manage in a unitary way the sinusoidal, distorted and transient conditions. Its complex Fourier series implements a formal unification between unbalance and distortion; such unification is conceptually significant and leads to simplification of principle, as well as powerful analytical processing. Examples illustrate the effectiveness of the complex Fourier series as analytical tool in different application areas.File in questo prodotto:
