The HVDC transmission is employed to transmit high amount of power through long distances, to overcome the limits of the AC transmission in terms of power flow regulation. Furthermore, the HVDC transmission is also involved in the connection of renewable energy sources, such as high power solar panels, wind farms, etc. In particular, this paper deals with the fault detection method in HVDC transmission systems. The system modeling and simulation results will be presented and discussed.

Abstract
