The dynamic simulation of concentrating solar plants is examined to define a reasonable simplified layout and to highlight the main issues in characterizing the process dynamics of these systems. The dynamic simulation is a key-tool to improve the performances and the life-cycle of the concentrating solar plants. A more detailed dynamic simulation could optimize the process transients and the net income of the plant by foreseeing the energy demand and storing the energy in advance and generating the maximum power when required. Detailed simulation results are elucidated. Abstract

This is an abstract of a paper presented at the CHISA 2012 - 20th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering and PRES 2012 - 15th Conference PRES (Prague, Czech Republic 8/25-29/2012).
