The retrofit measures to adopt within a strategy aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency and the environmental impact of buildings do largely pay for themselves on the basis of energy savings, and consequent savings in expense, obtained thanks to the effects of their implementation. A proper economic evaluation of the outlined remedial actions is thus of great importance, as one of the key elements of the decision-making process among various possible scenarios. A number of schemes have been developed to provide some methods of comparison. This chapter will discuss the basic concepts of economic evaluation of investments in energy conservation and in the use of renewable energy sources. © Springer-Verlag London 2013.

Abstract
© Springer-Verlag London 2013.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
