This chapter provides a general overview of the Green Energy Audit. Aims and objectives of the work are highlighted and particularly those aspects that make the process convenient, without ignoring the critical issues that may emerge from its incorrect application. The chapter explores the three operational levels of walkthrough audit, standard audit and simulation audit, highlighting the differences between the different approaches. Organisational aspects are then examined, together with the human factors and contractual aspects, required to meet the expectations of the owner and/or user client. The differences between, but also the complementarily elements of energy audits and energy performance certification, are also highlighted. The chapter then considers some important aspects that relate the Green Energy Audit to quality assurance processes. © Springer-Verlag London 2013.
