In this work paraffin-based fuels for hybrid rockets were investigated by means of experimental approaches in order to develop a new type of solid fuel combining at the same time good ballistic and suitable mechanical properties. Three kinds of experimental investigations were performed in order to study the rheological, viscoelastic and mechanical properties of paraffin-wax based blends doped with thermoplastic polymers and metal powders so as to evaluate a formulation which fits best to requirements to be used as a fuel for hybrid rocket engines.

Abstract
In this work paraffin-based fuels for hybrid rockets were investigated by means of experimental approaches in order to develop a new type of solid fuel combining at the same time good ballistic and suitable mechanical properties. Three kinds of experimental investigations were performed in order to study the rheological, viscoelastic and mechanical properties of paraffin-wax based blends doped with thermoplastic polymers and metal powders so as to evaluate a formulation which fits best to requirements to be used as a fuel for hybrid rocket engines.File in questo prodotto:
