Disegno "Urba-Tettonico": dalla parte della città? / "Urba-Tectural" Drawing: on behalf of the city?

(Incipit) Looking at the fresco Effects of good government on the city life (fig. 1), a sense of harmony and wholeness emerges, thanks to an exemplary figurative continuity. No astonishment, it is a matter of pictorial art. On the contrary, what happens if we look at the present drawings of cities, or better, at the urban drawing itself, that is, the one we use and convey to our young students? No illusion, it is not matter of art. Notwithstanding, it is a matter of something whose effects on the cities and their inhabitants are even more direct and tangible. Thus, it deserves some attention.

(Incipit) Osservando l’affresco Effetti del buon governo sulla città si coglie un’armonia d’insieme che il disegno restituisce attraverso una continuità figurativa esemplare. Ciò non stupisca, si tratta dell’arte pittorica. Cosa accade se osserviamo invece i disegni di città del nostro tempo, o ancor meglio il disegno della città nel suo complesso, cioè quello che pratichiamo e trasmettiamo ai nostri giovani? Ciò non illuda, non si tratta di arte. E purtuttavia di qualcosa le cui conseguenze sulla città e i suoi abitanti sono ben più dirette e concrete. Dunque meritevole di qualche attenzione.
