This paper deals with the prediction of high order and conditional statistics to be used for the design of High Throuput Satellite systems at Ka and Q/V bands. The validation of this type of prediction methods is discussed in terms of the amount of measurements required to get statistical reliability and new propagation experiments carried out at 20 GHz in Portugal, Spain and France with Eutelsat Ka-Sat and Astra-3B beacons are addressed for the test of these high order propagation models.

Abstract

This paper deals with the prediction of high order and conditional statistics to be used for the design of High Throuput Satellite systems at Ka and Q/V bands. The validation of this type of prediction methods is discussed in terms of the amount of measurements required to get statistical reliability and new propagation experiments carried out at 20 GHz in Portugal, Spain and France with Eutelsat Ka-Sat and Astra-3B beacons are addressed for the test of these high order propagation models.
