The quantumRabimodeldescribestheultrastronginteractionofatwo-levelatomcoupledtoasingle quantizedbosonicmode.AscomparedtotheJaynes–Cummings model,intheRabimodeltheabsorption and emissionprocessesdonotneedtosatisfyenergyconservationandtheusualrotatingwaveap- proximation(RWA)breaksdown.Asaresult,theatom-field dynamicsintheHilbertspacesplitsintotwo independent paritychains,exhibitingacollapse-revivalpatternandexactperiodicdynamicsinthelimit of degenerateatomiclevels.HereweintroduceamixedRabiJaynes–Cummings modelbyconsideringa three-levelatominteractingwithtwoquantizedbosonic fields, inwhichtheRWAismadeforone transition (withaweakatom-field coupling)butnotfortheotherone(withanultrastrongatom-field coupling). Asaresult,weshowthatthe field intheweakcoupledatomictransitioncanbeusedasatool to controltheatom-field dynamicsoftheother(strongcoupled)transition,thusrealizinganeffective two-levelquantumRabimodelwithacontrollable field. Inparticular,aperiodictemporaldynamicsof the atom-field statecanberealizedbyappropriatetuningoftheweakcontrol field, evenfornon-de- generateatomiclevels.AphotonicsimulatorofthemixedRabiJaynes–Cummings model,basedonlight transport inevanescentlycoupledopticalwaveguidelattices,isalsobriefly discussed.
