Tangible and Intangible Assets Management in a Manufacturing Service Ecosystem

A method for virtualization of in-/tangible assets is presented in order to facilitate the management of dispersed resources in Manufacturing Service Ecosystems (MSE) by means of so called Virtualized Assets as a Service. In this chapter a dedicated virtualization method as well as its underlying domain specific ontology allow for handling, sharing and composition of virtualized assets into market-specific product-services is introduced. The latters are gathered within a MSEE web-tool enabling the distributed operationalization of management of in-/tangible assets within a MSE. Its industrial benefits are depicted through industrial use-cases.
