The intervention proposed and sponsored by private affected all facades of Brera Palace and started since 2004 with the first preliminary investigations. Inside the important building there are the Ambrosian Library, the Art Gallery, the home of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Superintendence of Demoantropological, Historical and Artistic Heritage, the Astronomical Observatory and the Botanical Garden. Brera Palace is a very important building not only for its history and architecture but also for the functions that take place inside and the high number of people who attend and visit. The project, by Studio Campanella Tessoni in Crema (Cr), is an initiative commissioned by private (AP Communication, Milan) and funded through sponsorship advertising with the support of the State Property Agency in Milan, the Regional Directorate for Cultural Heritage and Landscape of Lombardy and the Superintendence for Architectural Heritage and Landscape of Milan. The latter has funded an important campaign of preliminary analysis that it was conducted on the whole complex. They are made geometric and topographic surveys, rectifications of digital photographs of the exterior and interior facades, chemical and physical analysis of materials, a reading mensiocronologica and stratigraphic and an in-depth historical analysis. With all this information has been set the material-pathological surveys through the mapping of rectifications of digital photos. This private initiative is served also to perform the interventions on the facades of the internal court with public funds (project by Superintendence for Architectural Heritage and Landscape of Milan).
