Learning how to cope with diversity and intercultural dialogue has become increasingly a necessity. The improvement of international mobility of students and the European academic cooperation on the level of the programmes, guarantees the professional competence of its students. GIDE – Group for International Design Education – is an international consortium of higher education design schools, which work together in order to promote international exchanges and to give the possibility to compare skills, content and quality of the study programmes enriching the experience of students in the areas of interior design. The group consists of five main partner colleges in Italy (Politecnico di Milano), the UK (Leeds College of Art and Design), the Netherlands (Academy of art and design St. Joost Breda), Switzerland (SUPSI), and Belgium (Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen). This paper is about the results of cooperation among them focusing on the last year project about “Books: the future of reading?”
