LIVING IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. DAR ES SALAAM. ABITARE NEI PAESI IN VIA DI SVILUPPO

Il volume è dedicato alla città di Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) e ai suoi problemi e indaga su come la città si trasformi e rifletta su se stessa; racconta soprattutto come sono i quartieri informali, la parte preponderante della città, dove vive la gente povera, ma non solo, di vecchia e recente immigrazione; racconta la città come l’hanno vista docenti e studenti di architettura che hanno avuto la possibilità di viverci per fare, su di essa, studi e progetti. I contenuti del volume sono stati esposti nella mostra "Living in developing countries. Dar es Salaam. abitare nei paesi in via di sviluppo". The ehibition ‘Living in developing countries Dar es Salaam Abitare nei paesi in via di sviluppo’ describes what the city is like, its problems, how it is changing and how it mirrors itself. Above all, it portrays the informal quarters which make up the greater part of the city where the poor live, but not the poor alone, there are also immigrants who have just arrived or have already been there for a long time. The exhibition describes the city through the eyes of the university professors, lecturers and students of architecture who had the opportunity to live there while carrying out their research and projects.
