Young people are the cornerstone of ICT development and the early adopters of new media techniques. They work everyday to create e-Content and applications that can make a real difference for the world we live in. Emerging information and communication technologies are playing an increasing role in everyday life, with relevant impacts on several aspects of our society. Digital technology is affecting our full life not only in health, security, safety, work and similar fields, but mainly cultural interests, creativity, entertainment, communication and relationship. Here at the WYSA, we recognize that young people’s projects do not have the support they need – and do not always have the opportunity or prominence to put them forward. Hence, we are positive there is a need to establish an awarding system to appreciate those efforts. Young people are talented and open-minded and are quicker and better than “grown-ups ” when it comes to using and working with new media. Abstract

Young people are working everyday to create e-Content and applications that could make a real difference for the world we live in .We are positive there is a need of establishing an awarding system to appreciate those efforts. The World Summit Youth Award (WSYA)is an international competition for youth-led projects that encourage the active participation of young people in the emerging Information Society. The WSYA is the first global "youth for youth"contest to break this awareness barrier and to present outstanding achievements of young content designers to the general public.
