The proposed paper focuses on the analytical evaluation of the e.m.f. and torque waveforms, in such a way to take into account the actual winding structure and the air-gap geometry; the method, at this stage limited to unsaturated conditions, is based on the use of the inductances and of their derivatives. The results are compared to FEM solutions, showing good agreement between the two methods.

Abstract
