Perforated cold-formed steel members are commonly used for storage solutions. Generally, these profiles have a mono-symmetric cross-section and are subjected to non-negligible torsional effects. Unlike solid web members, the behavior of the perforated ones it is not yet completely investigated and, as a consequence, design rules for routine design are extremely simplified. In the paper, the holes influence on the torsional response of mono-symmetric thin-walled steel members is discussed, focusing attention on the evaluation of the warping constant, which is of paramount importance to appraise the distribution of the normal stresses associated with the bimoment. In detail, an approach based on the theory of elasticity is herein proposed with a parametric application addressed on two open thin-walled members differing for the cross-section type. Research outcomes underline that neglecting the hole presence could reflect in an incorrect and unsafe estimation of internal stresses.
