Abstract

Within the framework of economic resources optimization devoted to cycling mobility, we present the BikeDistrict project. BikeDistrict is a web and mobile application that on one hand works as free bike navigator suggesting the bike-friendly routes of the city and on the other hand is configured as a “dashboard” for monitoring and planning the urban bike mobility. The system is able to identify critical infrastructures, to assess the impact of new infrastructural interventions, and to support planning activities and analysis, providing data that are complementary to those obtained using the traditional tools of urban surveys.
