In this paper a new evolutionary algorithm, Leadership Based Optimization (LBO) will be presented. It will be tested on some standard benchmark functions to assess his optimization capability. To understand the potentiality of this algorithm, it has been compared with other Evolutionary Algorithms, such as Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Finally the algorithm will be tested on the optimization of the array factor of a planar array antenna.

Abstract
